Let's Get Sketchy! November Week 2 Challenge

It's fun to go on trips, and it's good to visit with family...especially since I had not seen my parents since April of 2011. But it's also good to be home. Back into our routine. Not living out of a suitcase. And back to scrapping! We've been back since late Tuesday night of last week, and I'm embarassed to say I haven't quite finished unpacking and all the suitcases are still sitting out...but I did manage to complete about ten layouts. Clearly one can see where my priorities lie LOL.

Some of the scrapping I did was just for fun, and a lot of it was a project I'm working on for a friend, but I also completed a sample for this week's sketch at Let's Get Sketchy! I love how sketches make it quicker and easier for me to get my scrapping done! For the above layout I used a photo of myself and my co-workers at the last "paying" job I had before becoming a SAHM. It was taken at our annual company Christmas party about a week before my last day.  I was on such a roll that I also did an adjoining page using the card and a photo of the beautiful plant that my employers gave me on my last day.

Let's Get Sketchy! October 5th Monday Challenge

For the month of October there is a fifth Monday which means that at Let's Get Sketchy! we have a bonus challenge for the month.  This time we're doing something different with it...each design team member lifts a previous LGS layout from a fellow design team member, and that's what we would like you to do too! A quick post since we're on vacation and my time on the internet is limited...here is Let's Get Sketchy's reveal for this week.

Let's Get Sketchy! October Week 2

I'm seriously starting to believe that there is some kind of "illness" curse over our family right now. We've had 2 summer colds within 3 weeks, and we are now recovering from a stomach virus. Seriously?? I'm just thankful that we're on the up-swing in time for our trip. This Saturday we're leaving for Texas, to visit my parents and my in-laws. We'll be there for almost a month, and I really won't be able to do any scrapping so if you only see me posting once a week or so (oh wait that's already my M.O. huh?) that's why.

Anyhow, another Monday and another fun reveal from Let's Get Sketchy!  Please go check out the sketch. Also, some of you may already know, but the blog is changing things up a bit. Starting this month, instead of a deadline for each challenge being weekly, you now have until the end of the month to complete each sketch, in hopes that this will help give each of you more time to join in the fun. I'm not sure what possessed me to scrap these photos of Santiago from Christmas 2011, as the temps here in Southern California were up in the 90s at the time.  Wishful thinking perhaps? It seemed to do the trick though, because today is a beautiful 77^°
