Everyone is still sick at my house. I'm just thankful that the weather has cooled off. Summer colds are the worst in my opinion, so I'm feeling much better this time around having the windows open with all the fresh air coming in. But no matter what it feels like outside, cold medication still makes me feel like I'm living in a haze...quite literally. I can't seem to remember anything! So of course I managed to completely forget to post the following challenge at Colorful Creations. It's a bit ridiculous that it slipped my mind, considering it's my own sketch and I even created a layout as a sample. But don't worry, if you still want to participate the challenge will run through September 30th. And you can find all the details here

Let's Get Sketchy! Challenge #30
Another Monday and another challenge at Let's Get Sketchy! Please forgive my tardiness in posting...our family had yet another bout of sickness the last three days. Just a mild cold, but enough to keep the kids from wanting to play, and enough to keep me from wanting to work lol. And as usual it hit me the hardest several days after the kids. So while they were feeling good today, I was of course feeling worse. And it was also a second round of colds for us during 90 degree weather. Ugh! To top it off, they both had dentist appointments that I needed to take them to. So much fun to feel miserable while schlepping the kids around in the heat *insert sarcasm here*
Anyhow, here's my take on this week's sketch.
It's crazy that I'm still attacking the pile of Santiago's newborn photos, but it's seriously fun to be reminded of how tiny he was over 4 years ago!

Let's Get Sketchy! Challenge #28
It's Monday which means it's time for another sketch at Let's Get Sketchy! For the new design team members who serve on Team B with me, this is their first reveal! So please take a moment to check out their layouts as well as the sketch for this week. Here's my take on the sketch...
These photos were taken of Santiago about a week after he turned one year old. I adore his look of frustration & confusion in the left photo...he just couldn't figure out why the balls kept falling out the bottom of the tube. This toy was then passed onto Paolina, who at that same age always reacted with similar consternation. I often wondered if the toy's creator just had a quirky sense of humor when developing it LOL.

Sketchers Challenge
Back in July I posted about a new sketch blog called Sketchers brought to us by the creator of Let's Get Sketchy! It was originally a place to go to simply find sketches, but she has just added a design team as well as challenges that will occur bi-monthly. I have really been meaning to use some of the amazing sketches from this blog (I love love sketches!) and I thought that this was the perfect push to do so. Here's my take on the first challenge at Sketchers

Colorful Creations Guest Designer
I am so honored that this week I am the Guest Designer over at Colorful Creations. And coincidentally, this week's sketch was also mine. A double honor!
So here is the sketch I had to work with:
And my interpretation:
I chose to adapt it into a two-page spread using photos of Noé and me BC (before children) when he took me to Califonia Adventure to celebrate my birthday. It was so much fun to have Disneyland season passes that year...I hope when the kids get a bit older we do it again!
